When To Take Energy Gels
As they are fast-acting, energy gels are designed to be taken immediately before and during exercise. Take one gel around 10 minutes before the start of your activity to top up your energy. For longer workouts or endurance events, such as half-marathons or long-distance cycling, consume another gel every 30-45 minutes of exercise to maintain energy levels.
How Long Do Energy Gels Last?
Typically, you should aim for 60-90 grams of carbohydrates per hour, but this greatly depends on the intensity of exercise.
